Denaya, a Bay Area native, has had a long and loving relationship with movement.

She received her BFA from UCLA in World Arts and Cultures, and her MFA from Mills College in Dance.

Through her career, she has danced with many prominent dancers and choreographers such as Molissa Fenley, Susan Foster, and Victoria Marks. Denaya has studied Yoga with renowned yogi, Shiva Rea and has modeled for yoga textbooks. She is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher with 500 hours of training.

Denaya has been teaching dance, yoga, and Pilates at community colleges since 2006 and has taught at gyms throughout the Bay Area. She advises the dance companies at College of San Mateo and Mission College, advises Open Heart Yoga at College of San Mateo, and directs the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 training program at College of San Mateo.

In her classes, Denaya pushes people to challenge themselves, push their limits, and open themselves up to new and lofty ideas of confidence and accomplishment.
